I began my touring career in 2001, just six days after my high school graduation. I was eager to succeed and quickly learned the ropes of touring from my older bandmates who already had years of experience under their belts. I earned my stripes in these van tours for the next 5 years and I could not be more grateful for the humbling and formative experience of van club tours.
In 2004, I took some time off the road and immersed myself entirely into the craftsmanship of my tools. I invested my time into guitar rebuilds, setups, and basic amp repairs. During this time I stayed employed at local backline companies in Austin. In 2009, I studied recording arts at the Dallas Sound Lab (now known as MediaTech Institute) where I graduated second of my class of over two hundred students. My studies there were well rounded as classes covered everything from basic studio recording techniques and mic placement, to TV/Film post audio editing & ADR, Business, and Live Sound Reinforcement.
I continued working with backline companies on offsite productions within the Texas region and in their pre-production rehearsal rooms. I started touring again in 2014, this time heavily, and have maintained a busy calendar ever since I decided to get back on the road. I really enjoy working with the artists and love the family like commaradare that usually develops. The artist would ALWAYS walk into a space with a good vibe, patched, and ready to roll. I think it’s important to note that the the crew gets the same respect and consideration I’d show for the artist every day.
